Riga - the City of Many Faces
You will get to know Riga at its different points of history. You will have a chance to see with your own eyes and compare how Riga looked like in the Ancient Times, then how it flourished at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th and finally, what is the city now. Our bus (or car) tour will start from the heart of Riga – the City Hall Square with a brief introduction into the history of Riga. Then the bus will take you along the Daugava river into the business centre and famous central market. You will see the magnificent buildings of the Boulevard Circle, and then we will cross the river and go to Pardaugava with its fantastic wooden heritage and then make a stop for a half an hour walking tour in the Kipsala island that was born from an old fishing village. After our walk we will cross the river again and go to the historical centre of the city and have a half an hour long walking tour along the famous Alberta Street – a so called pearl of the Art Nouveau architecture. There you will feel the mystical atmosphere of the tenement buildings and every pretentious façade will tell you its own unique story. Then the bus will take you to the longest central street of the city, you will pass along beautiful churches and parks and finish the tour next to the Monument of Freedom.
